Men of Atlantic Cape Student Members Earn Their Jackets at Annual Ceremony

MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College’s Men of Atlantic Cape (MAC) recognized the academic accomplishments of six of its members during the club’s Annual Jacket Presentation Ceremony on the Mays Landing campus in Walter E. Edge Theater on May 1.

“MAC plays a crucial role in promoting equity, fostering success and empowering students. We equip MAC students with essential tools like networking, time management, mental health first aid, mentorship and educational success strategies,” said Jerome Ingram, co-mentor, Men of Atlantic Cape. “This support helps them overcome barriers, achieve their academic and personal goals, and graduate prepared for the workforce.”

Those earning their jackets this year were Chance Brown, Ibrihim Goodman, Ger’Vaughn Jones, Ihsan Moore, Nyamse Obot and Navin Patterson.

As a member of MAC, students earn the privilege of experiencing many unique opportunities. Members who show unwavering commitment to the program, and achieve at least a 2.5 overall GPA, are entitled to network with external professional agencies and employers; take part in college tours; interact with faculty, staff and guest speakers; and most importantly, enjoy exclusive access to potential professional internships and career opportunities.

“Witnessing our MAC members earn their jackets is a moment of pride and joy, symbolizing the unity and academic success that we strive for at Atlantic Cape,” concluded Ingram, who is supported by MAC co-mentors Rashawn Martin and Eric Stewart.

The mission of MAC is to promote the advancement of Black and Latino male students through peer-to-peer support, mentorship, leadership development and networking experiences.
